Ebay payment options??
Sold some items last week, clearly stating Paypal only,
most of the stuff was fine aprt from one auction, where i now have the buyer claiming he cant pay with paypal, and would like to send cash..
Now i,m dead against this, for obvious reasons, and i,m not overly keen on a bank transfer either..
any other options available?
i did think of two guaranteed cheques, or postal orders, but again i dont know how safe they are either

In that scenario, if the buyer wasn't close enough to deliver cash, I'd tell him to send a Postal Order. Cash it the same day it arrives at a Post Office and send the goods off while you're there.

bank transfers are excellent, although they can take a few days depending on your bank

"Unless I knew and trusted someone I wouldn't give them my bank details!"
So by the same token you wouldnt write a cheque to anyone you didnt know and trust either ?
Sort Code and Account number is all that is needed for a bank transfer....and they're on every cheque aswell.

For future reference - In your preferences you can block bidderss without paypal account - saves a LOT of hassle. Anyone with a bank account or a credit card can get a paypal account so there is no good reason not to have one.
Ask them WHY they don't have a paypal account and watch the 'balloney machine' kick into action!!
Ssending cash thing sounds like a highway to a whole lot of hassle! and I would never reveal bank details unless it's a business account. Also watch cheques they can be disputed by the buyer and cancelled upto 6 months later!!!
If you have any losing bidders( ie second chance) I'd email them and ask them if they're still interested. that's what I did - told the idiot who tried to 'make up his own terms & conditions - ie sending the parcel to a non-confirmed address ( his 'mates' address in Australia!!) to stuff off - he went to extraordinary lengths to get me to subvert the system! Funny thing is he looked 'semi-legit' - had used a loophole in the system on paypal which only showed up after accepting his payment - he was uk paypal with a australian address - ie no protection for me! Lucky for me the same idiot had once contacted me 6 months earlier asking me to sell on his behalf (from my account!) becuase I had specialised knowledge in the things he wanted to sell. I'd sell them and he would post them - yeah right, becuase I want to become a drugs mule by proxy!
I'd suggest you tread very carefully - as soon as you accept payment outside the paypal system your on your own! - cash will never come - guy will demand the goods - etc etc - then he'll have your home address etc etc - and I bet as soon as you 'accept another form of payment' some 'new revelation' that you don't like will be thrust upon you!!
There is a reason these guys DON'T want an audit trail linking them to the purchase - and it's not a good reason!
