Default How good is this British Gas price fix?

We're in the position of looking to change (prior to the price increase) - just looking at who to jump ship to!

How good is this British Gas price fix thing - we've got both gas nad leccy with them - the only thing I can see is that it is a set price until 2009.

Might be slightly more expensive, but there is peace of mind (or so I assume)

Any thoughts?

Dan

LOL, 22% increase, never to reduce over 3 years, and they sell it like they're doing us a favour!

I too have my gas and leccy with them, not as from next month!

My last few gas bills were 'Nothing to pay'. BG too! Only got a gas hob but just don't use it TBH.

Right then - any recommendations? Scottish Power (Pete ) - also looking at Age Concern (free light bulbs etc)

Any others we should be looking at?

Correct Pete, it is a ploy to keep you just as it was when they did it between Sept and Feb 12 of this year. For those who took the time to sign up to the earlier offer they will be better off as they will have fixed prices at the old rate til 2010.
As always happens all the other power companies will follow with price rises. In fact most of them already have but the press just seem to like picking on british gas for some reason.

I've stayed with British Gas for way too long and now I'm on the move.

I misplaced my bill and the postman has just delivered a lovely letter from them. Once upon a time it would have read "If you have paid your bill in the last few days, please ignore this letter or pay as soon as possible", but this one reads, "Unless you pay in full immediately we will disconnect your gas supply and charge you £30.00 for the visit , we may also fit a pre-payment meter and charge you £235.00 and you could be without gas for several days until we re-connect you".

Well to British Gas - .

(I do not like that smilie but it's the only one appropriate at the moment.)

Never had a problem with BG (touch wood) yet. Bills by direct debit (cheaper), paperless billing (cheaper) and gas/electric from them. Had a look at uswitch and for us, there is little point in changing
