Couldn't drive home on the A45 from Daventry two nights ago because someone had crashed and died...so went down the nobottle/norton road....where Two others had died in the last couple of weeks
I've lost count of the amount of times i've come around that bend on the A45 near Dav where the person died two nights ago to see people on the wrong side of the road overtaking. This appears to have happened in the latest incident with tragic results. It wasn't more than Two months ago the same thing happened as well although the people involved then were luckier.

When the government realise that dangerous driving, druggged and drunk drivers, unsafe vehicles, untaxed vehicles, uninsured vehicles and stolen vehicles cannot be detected on speed alone, then we'll see our roads getting safer again.

There's a lot of roads now where the only safe overtaking spots have cameras. There's a good chance this is a factor in increased fatalities - people overtaking at unsafe spots because there is nowhere else.

It's not necessarily because of cameras, I think it is a general lack of overtaking skill. A colleague of mine saw a near head-on collision happen on the A428 recently. An Impreza tried to overtake a car and trailer on a bad bend (there are always large bouquets of flowers on the trees there!) and nearly ran a white van off the road and caused damage to his own car. This was all a week after the Impreza driver was killed on a nearby road.
Not trying to make it out it's all Impreza drivers

agree 100% and would like to add that there needs to be an increase of Traffic Police numbers as the speed cameras do not pick up any of the actions of the above Olly mentioned unless they exceed the limit.
Norhtamptons curent policy is short sighted and just not targetting the real problems. It is about 'yes men career' cops at the top and making money!

Might have been 16 had it not been for the camera, it'll be doing more good than harm...
