Thumbs down 2F2F on now - P.O.S

Just watched the opening 10 minutes of this crap What utter tosh

4 supposedly highly tuned cars thrashing it down a straight road for about 30s and at the end of it in 26th gear a close up of the speedo showed 80mph then they all switch on the NOS to jump a bridge at 160 and after flying about 80ft at a height of 40ft plus, the only damage on landing was one loosing a front bumper I thought the 1st film was bad but has the director of this tripe ever actually driven a car I just need to work out whether to watch the rest and waste another 2 hours of my life or prepare a legal bid for compensation for the 10 minutes already lost

could have saved you the time (and I havent even seen it), why because the first one has to be one of the worst films *ever* made. Yeah ok people say you have to suspend belief and just enjoy, I can suspend belief when watching highlander and consider it one of my all time faves, the problem with this POS is that it *tries* to be authentic and it is just fecking hopeless!

Don't watch it then!!

I still find it funny that Americans think that 100mph is fast!

I've not seen 2F2F but I think there is one other film that MUST be worse.

'Driven' with Sylvester Stallone. Absolutely incredible POS. For instance, the race cars (like KART/F1 cars) have key ignition When racing two KART/F1 cars through the downtown streets of the city at over 100 mph they are talking to each other by shouting across from one open cockpit car to another And some driver goes round a track throwing out coins which he then proceeds to powerslide/handbrake turn over on the next lap to show off his precision driving Ooh, and nearly forgot, the race control monitors flashing up DANGER, DANGER in red letters when he was coming up too fast for a corner!!!!!!!! UNREAL!!!

Watched twenty odd minutes of the first one, knowing it would be sh1te, but was impressed by how sh1te they had managed to make it. Couldn't sit through twenty minutes of the second one, far too much grass to watch grow!

The yanks probably think this is the height of authenticity. Everything here is automatic and handles like a blamanche, a VW Passat is a luxurious, exotic car compared to the tripe most people drive, and everyone sits with cruise control at 54mph on open, wide, empty straight roads!

My favourite part was the flames from the exhausts. Not just the odd lick of flame, but full on afterburner flames all the time. Quality.

And that Suki woman. Was she weird looking or what?

A mate who I worked with in New York was the main ocation scout for the first one, and was offered the part to do the second. He read the script and refused to work on it because it was so ****. I still watched it though because it's a bit of fun but did push the boundaries.

Has to be said the first one was class in the Civic's going under the 18-wheeler (which was jacked up a lot if I recall). There is a third one under discussion which is supposed to go back to the basics of the first rather than the crap of the second one.

Did not cost much to make but made a fortune on the first one which is why they got straight into a second one...

If I'm reading THIS correctly, it actually MADE money

Production budget $76m
Marketing $40m
Total $116m

Domestic (US) gross $127m
Oversees $109m
Total $236m

Which means it made $120m gross (don't know where that leaves it net ) $50m in its opening weekend was probably on the back of the 1st being at least watchable drivel, I bet ticket sales plummited the week after

Thumbs up

I watched it, i may not watch it agian or buy the dvd but it was a bit of eye candy.

Some good driving except the street races that looked like they where lifted from two six years olds playing a racing game on a PS2. How may gearchanges?!?
NOS activated and it looked like engaging warp drive on the enterprise.

some nice cars, girlies some good driving and a completely implausable story.

Watched it once and only becuase my GF bought it for me - heart was in the right place but coming home with Le-Mans or being the first to find Grand Prix on DVD would have meant serious bed action and marriage. As it was I barely held my tongue and she knew it was bad after 10 seconds.

Bet everyone can't wait for No. 3 to come out later this year?
