A mate of mine has just rung and asked if I know anyone/anywhere you might sell some high end hi-fi equipment The big problem is the time limit. He's arranged to do a PX next thursday but would like to offer the equipment around to anyone whom seriously wants it at/near the PX price, rather than the dealer make a big mark-up.

It's a Red Rose/Mark Levinson valve amp which retails IRO £8.5k and is being chopped for around £2k. I realise that at this level any prospective buyer would want to audition, probably within their own equipment and home, but just in case anyone is familiar enough with the product to buy it for the bargain it is, any ideas If you were in the market for a £2k amp, you'd be chuffed to get an £8.5k one

The amp is in Leeds. If they want a genuine bargain then I don't think it would be too far to travel. The dealer this is due to go to will put it out at £4.5k, so even the 2nd hand saving is not to be sniffed at let alone the saving from new.
