Question HELP : Sending wheels to Holland - what's the best way?

I am interested in buying some slightly used 17" wheels with tyres from a fellow Forester owner over on subaruforester.org

What's the best way to get them over to Holland from the UK - from both a cost and practical point of view? Would Parcelforce be a good choice?

Anyone got any experience in shipping bulky items? I would guess at 25kg per wheel.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Gary. That would be 50 quid a wheel with Parcelforce according to their site. Not too bad I suppose.

Ive imported things from overseas weighting 15kg or so, and always used Fedex.

It might be worth checking their site as you can get a quote if you specify the size and weight of the shipment.

Edit: Fedex freight shipments charge about e4.10 per kg, so 330euros for a set of 4 wheels (assuming 80kg total)!!...

would it not be cheaper to get a cheap day return & collect / meet seller dependant on location?

Just a suggestion but worth considering

Simo, Thanks, I thought about it - but from where I live it's not like just popping to Calais on a day trip. When I factor in how I charge my time to my employer - even at 50% of that rate it's a poor use of a day of my spare time compared to the postage cost.

Thanks for all the help guys.
