Question Funds for Palestine

Why don't wealthy Arab countries like Saudi Arabia chip in with some serious financial help for their Arab brothers?

This is a genuine question and I must be missing some obvious reason but my knowledge of the area and its history is not that strong. dl

Shall I, before you fall off the page ?

The sad truth is that many Arab countries don't give a damn about the Palestinians. Jordan is a very good example ...

More to the point, why don't Islamic nations ever help each other out? It's always left to the Western nations to supply the aid and the Islams just want to blow us up in return.

Yeah that's sort of what I thought except that all Arab countries would presumably want to have a Palestine that was better able to defend itself against the common enemy Israel?

Selfish b*******s then...... dl

"It's the economy, stupid!" You can be sure there is a lot of trade going on behind the political curtains, and yes, even between Israël and Iran or SA for example. And as B2Z says, a lot of those governments (mostly non democratic) were put in place by us, happily trading oil.

The Palestinians only "cost" money, they aren't important economically, and none of the surrounding countries want to have them on their soil either.

Doubly f*cked if you pardon my French.

One key is in the word "Muslim".

Why doesn't a rich Christian country like England help a poor Christian country like Ireland?

Wahhabites, Shiites, Sunnis etc don't always see eye to eye, to put it mildly.

Edit - or even better, what do you think about Christian English taxes going to pay for Christian French/Polish/Estonian underdeveloped regions? Would you be in favour?

They have been known to sometimes politely disagree over certain aspects, yes

Also, I forgot: the Palestines used to have a large Christian minority. It was a pretty secular people, and it is only in the last 10 years or so that Islam is becoming important to them.

The Palestinians do recieve help from other Arab / Muslim states, it's just that it's in the form of arms and amunition.
