Default Weird Plane

Saw a really wierd plane at Southampton airport the other day, I got a photo but the phone isnt playing with the PC, anyway, its small prop job, little bit bigger than a Cessna, 2 engines, pretty unremarkable but it had one engine on the tail, one on one wing and nothing on the other wing, lads at work reckon I have photoshopped it !

I know its real, wtf is it ?

As i work at a real airport, i'm not too hot on the old props. But that sounds crazy. Are you sure it didnt have one engine off for repairs?

Its been on discovery wings,

its a new type of layout reckoned to be more economical and efficient than the normal prop at the front, or prop on each wing design,

its an american guy, apparantly well renouned for his designs,

done one similar with one huge wing, and the fusualage offset on the maller wing if i recall

It's a B-N Trislander and it should have had 3 engines. If it only has 2, one's fallen off somewhere

Well that clears that up then !

I was convinced (through my alcohol haze) that it was some new experimental thing. Whys a plane that size need 3 engines ?

More engines the better

If I built a plane it'd have 6 huge Turbofans off a 777 bolted to a Jetstream airframe

They're only rated at 260hp each although there was apparently a rocket booster option I wish Subaru would offer that on the STi

They use them for the flights between Southampton, Bournemouth, Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, and places like that. Guernsey Airport has loads of them there.

Ali-B,

Better pick a different airframe. The Jetstream was the least pleasant aeroplane I ever flew!

Ok, how about converting a Boeing B1-B for cilvilian use?

That bomb bay would make a nice bedroom for the mile high at mach 1 club
Would prefer a B1-A though - just for speed

Yep, it's what I call a "slow" day at work. That is, if you could call messing with photoshop work
