flashed by a gatso..
driving home i was going towards a gatso,it was facing me so i could see the lens&flash etc, my snooper didnt activate, passed the camera doing about 40 in a 30 and it flashed at me, no other cars. i was always led to believe that the gatso could only get you when your going past it, seeing the rear then going over the little white lines in the road not coming the other direction like i was..... have i been done do u think? on the same road my snooper goes off when coming from the other direction.
thanks

your safe if it was a Gatso and not a Truvelo (sp?) I believe that certain frequencies or electrical devices can set these off. My old Renault used to set it off ALL the time if I was going faster than 40 so every evening about midnight after dropping the misses off on my way home I would speed up just to make it go off and waste the film

Badly aligned gatsos are common. They are supposed to be aligned so they do not pick you up on the other side of the road. I've set many off, and KNOW of certain ones that will flash when you are going 'head on' towards them, if your a little over the limit. I've never had a ticket, as said you cant get prosecuted from a 'head on' flash. (GATSO not TRUVELO).

Yep, no worries with that, I've been flashed "several" times by cameras facing me. Assumed they were overly sensitive to general speed, but it can't measure you oncoming.
Hopefully it'll run out of film if it keeps happening. One by White City / A40 in London used to flash me every time I drove towards it!

Yes they can FLASH you coming the other way.....but you cannot be prosecuted from a normal gatso in the opposite direction.
As above, I calculate ive wasted about 1500 individual shots of film in one particular gatso over the course of a year Accident blackspot my ****
