Killed A Rabbit Today
Took a day off to do some fencing at home and I was just banging some nails into a post when a rabbit lollops up the road not 3m from me. Rabbits aren't my favourite animals but they don't normally hang around to get things thrown at them.
I followed it and got to within "striking distance" with my hammer, so it was obviously not a well bunny. Looked closely and could see that it had myxomatosis one of it's eyes was pussed up and the other red and rheumy.
Decided against bashing it on the head with the hammer, so went and got my air-rifle and shot it cleanly through the head.
Not seen myxie for many years but hopefully it'll keep some of the local rabbit population down. Don't like seeing them moving around blindly though

.22 through the side of the head from 10 ft = 100%

Other options included picking it up by its hind legs and doing it or rabbit punching it but again thought about it's fear so wimped out.

I have used the shotgun before for the job and did that at point blank range. Just to make sure.

I've seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the killer rabbit there had a profound effect on me.

Its a disease thats rife in Kent each year unfortunately, seeing rabbits sitting in the middle of the road blind deaf and puss dripping off their faces is not a pleasant site. Try and hit them with the car when I ever I see them to put them out of a very painful and slow death. If you go within 10 metres of an animal suffering with this you can carry the disease on your clothes and spread it so best not to get close to them. Surprised you saw a rabbit diseased this time of year, it doesn't normally kick off until spring time and then fall away by autumn.
Have to have our 3 pet rabbits innoculated each year to protect from this as its so common in the south east.

LOL no, although accidentally hit one years ago when on the back of a mates bike - he weighed about 20 stone, me 14 stone and the weight of the bike, we stopped looked back and it was flat as a pancake star shaped in the middle of the road
Might try doing a burnout on one next time I see one though

careful -you'll have the fluffy protection league on here. - I hit one on a 250 Virago once - feker must have grabbed hold of the chain on the way past, cos the side of the bike, boots and jeans were covered in blood and guts. The stuff on the engine was well cooked on by the time I got home. Didn't smell of burning flesh though - more like Sunday Roast

I ran over a rabbit once when I was in an old Mini Clubman going down some back roads. Little sod took my front number plate off. Pretty nible things they are and I had to go up the grass verge to get it.
