Saw it for the first time yesterday. Thought it was good, didnt know what to expect, just put it on cause there was nothing else and really got into it.
Put Prison Break on afterwards and enjoyed that too. Finally a night worth staying in and watching the TV for.

Yep luvin it. The banter between him and "the guv" is great and both are good characters Was FPMSL when they stormed into the mill and shouted, "Freeze, you're surrounded by armed B4STARDS!"

class stuff.
also did the same thing, saw the first one, missed the second and watched the 3rd one. luckily there is not too much of a continuity running through which means that you can pick it up pretty quick, but boy what fun
brings me back to The sweeney loads of un-pc talk, bad mouthing the crims and straight talking, exactly what we need to have back
oh and quality terms like, "skirt ", class..really miss things like that (though i am not that old to have said them in the first place !!!)

Clever device to compare standards of the 70s with those of the Politically Correct present. I guess the idea is to show how far we've 'progressed'.
I think I prefer the 70s 'guv'

Lol that they are always cracking down a scotch or two as well!
They are making a second series too. In the last epsidode of this series they were gonna crash the cortina through a wall - but they got the call about another series and decided they needed to keep the car as finding one so tidy was a nightmare!

I missed Monday nights episode of Life On Mars because I'm a div and forgot to set the Sky box
What's this bit torrent stuff all about? What do I have to do to be able to watch it? Is it easy for a girl?
Cheers
Sal
PS. Ali-B, your PM box is full!

That flippin' box always gets stuffed - can't you badger SDB/Shaun to make them bigger, Sal?
Anyhoo...This is what you need to know: http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/1.html
Software: http://www.bittornado.com/
Live torrents are available on mininova.org (search for "life on mars")
The 699.99meg one was alive and kicking as of last night, although quite busy, it will only download at only 20-30K/sec. So I left it overnight, oh and you'll need broadband as the smallest one is 300odd meg (can't comment if that one is ok...both 700meg ones are top notch )
HTH
Obviously I completely wash my hands of any legality involving copyright of something can't buy on DVD (yet)

yep fantastic.
I now know what all them oldies say when they go all dewey eyed about old stuff from their youth.
This is my equivilent & looks very much like the genuine artical from what I remember.
I have one big problem though.(and before you start this is not racist ,just a reflection of the attitudes in those days as are well shown in this programme)...I don't beleive a black Rastafarian would be able to get a job in a pub in those days (around 1973??)let alone run one, especially one frequented by white police.
Anyone agree ?

Just watched tonights episode which was brilliant as usual.
I especially liked the bit where the Guv told his Sgt to go and lock up the landlord of the pub and when asked what for he told him to think of something on the way.
Also the bit in the back of the vans where the Guv says "right lads get tooled up" and they all bring out baseball bats.
I wish the job was like that today!

"Cattle rustling" was the answer to much amusement

I love it ......
The worrying thing is that the job was probably like that in '73 ! or is it worrying
It brings a smile to my face every week - then I have to go in to work and do it the way we do today ....
