Default Has your partner gone bread making mad!

Mine has, everyday, the smell of freshly baked bread permiates every pore of my being I had a doze in bed last night, prior to my night shift, and awoke an hour later to the smell of bread coming through the radiators. I awoke at 12 today, guess what, to the smell of bread
Dont get me wrong though, the bread is delicious, and in a few short weeks, Joh has become a deft hand at making bread, and it saved us enough money for me to have all my mods done
It probably doesn't help that she gave up smoking on Jan 1st, and needs something to occupy her now.
Ah, there's the beeper going for another loaf ready, thought I could smell something cooking...................................
Chris. (not getting fat on bread, as apparently it's really good for you )

The best thing about the good old-fashioned way of making your own bread was that you could imagine that the dough was the head of someone who'd just upset you or someone whom you didn't like! The resulting bread would turn out just perfect Haven't had any experience of bread-makers, though.

Had our Panny 253 for a year or two. Consistently nice bread. But I'm convinced that it's not cost-effective to bake one loaf at a time, it takes 5 hours!! That's some electricity.

Just for good measure, and to validate your story, can we see a freshly baked loaf on the other half's head?

If you haven't tried steaming rice in your steamer yet, give that a go - it takes longer than boiling, but the results are well worth it

I'm not very good at rice, so I'll give it a go now. Anything else that's good?

I asked for and got a slow cooker for Christmas. Tried it out for leek and potato soup last night. Just had a bowl for lunch and it was lovely.

I made the stupid mistake of setting the timer so that my bread would be ready for 7am so that I could have some in the morning when I got up.

So for those of you who are wondering why this was a stupid decision............. I spent all night with the smell of warm bread wafting up the stairs dribbling like homer simpson!!

I got the Panasonic breadmaker as part of my 25yrs hard labour award last year

I've not used it a lot yet, but initial results are promising I just need to work out how to tweak the recipes to taste like 'propper' home made bread should taste.

But why-oh-why doesn't it do a 'Dough Only' option on the French programme? I would have thought the whole point of a French programme would be to make baguettes?

Here's a tip for those with Bread Makers - try Onion Bread!!!

Just mix your usual plain white loaf, but slap in a sliced and diced onion. Absolutely gorgeous - especially toasted with dairylea on top (not jam or honey, obviously ).
