Default Nokia N70 - Memory Card Help !!!

Hi,

I have had a Nokia N70 and recently brought a Sandisk 1Gb RSMMC memory card for it.
I have formatted it on my PC but the phone won't read it

But if I put the adaptor on it my old Nokia 6230 will read it no problems

The new N70 won't read the 1Gb card from my 6230 either

It just keep saying "No memory card inserted"

Anyone got any suggestions ???

I have a mate who has the 6680 and is running a 512Mb card, so I am wondering if there is a limit.
64Mb aint enough for me though, want to run Tom Tom and use it as an MP3 player

I know its very different to the 6230, quite a few features that have gone

It said that about the 6230 in the manual, but ran it with a 1Gb for over 12 months no problems. I was told the limit was to do with formatting the cards in the phone, hence having to do it on a PC.

I had the same problem with a 256Mb card that was used fine in a 7210 not working in a N70. I suspected that the card might need to be formatted by the N70 itself before it would work. Worth a try?

Trouble is the phone doesn't recognise the card so won't give the option to allow you to format it in the phone !!! Only the 6230 and the PC will read it.

You need a dual voltage card..

I did exactly the same with a 512 stick of RSMMC i can't remember the whys and what fors but look for RSMMC media containing the keyword DV and that will work

Good job i have a camera to use the memory i bought, lol!
