Damn electrical appliances...
Any any ideas why a fridge door will not stay closed properly? I need a quick answer before the credit card takes a hammering it can't afford.
Fridge is empty and there is nothing stopping it from closing etc.
Ta.

I've had the door off and cleaned round etc, but still no joy.. looks like one of the hinges may be knackered but can't tell by eyesight.. they look fine..

Can you wiggle it at the hinge side of the door? How exactly does it not shut? Does it just bounce back open? If you close it gently does it still swing open?

There is no movement in the door when you try to wiggle it... and yeah, it bounces open back no matter how hard or gently you try to close it..

"Worn seals on a fridge or freezer can be detected by placing a $10 note between the door seal and the unit. If it falls away or can be easily removed, it's time to replace the seals or adjust the door."
Use a fiver instead?

Tilt the fridge slightly until the door remains closed. One or two beermats under the front legs should do it. Sorted
Oh, btw, I think the police arrested the wrong man in the Newmarket last night...

As its christmas, i,ll tell you the repair method for tired door seals!!
costs bugger all and works..
all you need....
a hair dryer!! i kid you not...
place a sheet of paper at varying points around the door and pull gently, not the areas where the seal does not hold the paper..
turn the hair dryer onto its hottest setting, and play it over the compressed door seal in the areas where the paper is not held, do a small section at a time....
and watch the compressed seal pop out..
then try the paper test..
you can if you wish dod the whole of the seal..
as ive saved you the cost of a new fridge, i reckon a drink is in order!!
merry christmas
