safety stop doesn't work if it's running and the machine is circa 1940ish so h&s isn't really the fisrt thing they were thinking of when they made them.

the piece of oak i was working on caught a knot and broke out while i was running it through, went flying across the workshop and my fingers took its place

not really nice seeing bits of bone where the end of your finger used to be! still they peeled a piece of skin from the back of my middle finger and sewed it to the end of my index, then took a graft from the inside of my arm to patch up the middle finger.
so i now have 2 fingers sewn together and a piece of my arm missing
all done under local anesthetic a well, grrrrr
