Subaru parts?
Went to dealer to ask for availability of parts today the guy looked it up eventually!!
He then told me the price i informed him that i knew the price i wanted to know availability he said i cant tell you that till i order lol
I said im not going to order it if you cant get it am i
this has happened twice the first time they ordered the part and told me 2 days went in no part!!
left it 3 days went in still no part they then checked on the system and it now says 5 on back order wtf did they order it for then lol
I asked when they would have them they said DON'T KNOW
AT least when you go to the blue oval dealer they can tell you if the part is available
I still do not have the first part i ordered either still on back order thats 2 months!!

Our local Scooby dealers are absolutely awful for parts stock.
FFS, they don't even stock cambelt tensioners or idlers!.
Not only the RRP and trade prices are massively overinflated, your given the indignity of having to wait a working week for the parts to arrive
Yet I go to a Yamaha dealers, and obtain a pair of RD500 mirrors for £30 each, delivered in two days - and that is a bike that ceased production 15 years ago! - superb

its called lean manufacturing..
gone are the days when a dealer would hold a considerable amount of stock at the premises.
now its basic consumables, and a enough to do some major overhaul jobs..
the rest is held at a main warehouse and shipped as needed.
this runs on a system of forcasting and regular supply..
hence if you order a part and 6 other dealers do, and theres only 1 part at the w/h it first come first served..
however it shouldnt take more than 3 days to get the other parts... but..
if IM like any of the other oems are to form, a run on parts within the warranty period, they will be beating up the suppliers rather than loking after the customers..

local parts to me is complete gash scrawny 17/18 year old gimp is mainly on the desk and seams to enjoy the "is it an import" question FAR TO MUCH of course a simple lie seams to thrown him off "no" does not help him being a spazz are ordering the wrong parts, so that when i do wait 3/4 days for a calliper bolt, the wrong thing arrives local vauxhall dealer is 100% perfect everytime i have been in used to work at a ford dealers so i know the local one is 100% as well also did about 6 months at the local nissan dealer, and about 1 month at the local seat dealer ?!? subaru dealers really are a bag-o-**** IMO TBH the seat dealer was not so hot either mind
