Paul Kossoff / Free question
I found a copy of Free's "Heartbreaker" this lunchtime on vinyl.
I was gobsmacked to see the sleeve notes which said clearly which tracks Kossoff played guitar on. Apparently he did NOT play on "Wishing Well"!
It's on the sleeve so presumably it's true ...?

It was indeed .... done a bit more desk research (AKA p1ssing around on Google) and Kossoff was in a bad way during the studio sessions, only turning up / straight enough to play on 4 tracks. Sad

my old man worked at island records in the 70's, one of his jobs being to drive paul kossoff and pick him up. literaly. he said many a time he'd bundled him in the back of a car to get him to the studios. terrible waste...

Very expressive guitarist that one... really distinctive style.
IIRC, Paul Rogers denied that Wishing Well was about Kossoff. Didn't the new Japanese bloke they got in play guitar a bit as well as keyboard? That might be cobblers.

Paul Kossof's Dad came to my school over a decade ago and gave us a talk on Paul and essentially what a waste it was of a fantastic talent and life. Certainly made a number of the numpties who were experimenting at the time take stock.
