He can negotiate the UK rebate provided there is linkage to the CAP. If not then he won't get away with it.

He won't get away with giving the EU another 3.5 *BILLION* pounds a year for no return.

He'll get lynched by the anti-eu lobby - and I'll be at the front of the queue wiv me pitchfork

£3.5 billion - how many hospitals, prisons, bobbys etc does that buy - EVERY YEAR

And you're surprised about this because??

He was held accountable in the last elections, sadly, not enough people were prepared to get off their backsides and kick him out. He took that as an indication that the public are happy for him to lie about stuff to get his own way. In 4 years or so you get another chance to get rid of this **** kicker. But next time it will be the ultimate *** wipe GB in the driving seat.

The 'man' (sic) is a TRAITOR a LIAR who would gladly sell his soul to Satan if he thought it would help get his name in the history books. He will go down as the man who sold this country out to Europe just to try to appease some eastern bloc no mark whingers.

It is clear that there are no depths to which Blair will not sink in his cravings for glory.

Just shows how gullable he is...

to the punters its bang his fist i wont surrender,

when it comes to the crunch, its sold on a promise, and lets be honest it will never come about, how many of our politicians have taken on the biggest beurocratic white elephant and come away with anything.

Its all part of blairs legacy...

what will he be remebered for,

ripping the heart out of a once proud country, and selling us down the river,

and he dosent care, because he wont be accountable...

Seems a bit sad that something that benefited our country and negotiated for in a robust manner is now being re-negotiated on by (IMHO) a weak leader.

Yep, no problem, let's give Europe a bit more, even though we've got half of Eastern Europe and some of the middle east pouring in claiming benefits and handouts.

While we continue to be seen as an "attractive soft destination" for immigration, ripe for opportunity and pickings, we will continue to see an influx. However, I'm not convinced that trying to turn the UK in to a third world country is the best way to resolve the issue.

Shows the different attitudes between Conservative and New Labour

Conservative = it is the populations money to be left with them by minimum taxes to be spent by the poplulation as they want.

New Labour= it is the Governments money to be taken from the population in Taxes and then be spent by the Government as they want.

Maggie knew it was our money and wanted it back to reduce the Tax burden on the individual. Blair knows its our money and doesnt care if we dont get it back as long as he gets some political credit for giving it to the EU. One a politican of principles then Blair a politicain worried about his image

This thread feels like a black hole

Anyway: it is funny to read the comments on here, as the rest of Europe is very mad with Mr. Blair - especially the 10 new EU members. He is forcing a reduced budget on them, "take it or leave it" stylee.
