Or was the last 10 times you had sex it was the same-old-same-old. Missionary, then a ***, then asleep? Or have you been fobbed off with the "I'm too tired"

A common misconception, you forgot to prefix the the word 'men' with the word 'shallow'.

Men visit Ho's for the following reasons IMHO:

1) Peer pressure, lads holiday, Amshterdam, yah? + etc...

2) Basic human needs...single guys, that can't be arsed, requiring an oil change....

3) Desperation, ugly ****'s....

4) Sport *******, a good hobby if you can afford it

More men are feeling that it's not worth the hassle of getting into a relationship with a Woman. I would guess these men come from every walk of life. Students through Stock Market Analysts to Retired people.

As a lady, why do you think that is? Im sure there are a percentage of women that are very good in relationships. But if the numbers are rising, then it cant be a vey high percentage...

Do you really beleive that? I have a few friends that are not fat, don't smell bad and aren't excessively ugly (I wouldn't sleep with them ) They can make women laugh and would probably tick a lot of the boxes women would say they look for in a guy.

But they can't seem to find a GF. So why are Women not interested in them?

If you go to a club of an evening. I guess it will be roughly 75% of the people coming out are alone. And not having exchanged phone numbers with someone. So are people becoming far too picky about what they actually want? Or is it some other reason?

And another thing Women must by definition want Sex just as much as Men. But they are always the ones that refuse it. I cant remember ever refusing an offer from a GF. But Im sure it must happen the other way round. And related to that is that Women aren't exactly easy to read. They play stupid games with Men. Which means Men get to the point, where they can't be arsed chasing and chasing. So they go on to the next prospect.

Men go to prostitutes for many reasons. From the psychological need for closeness with another person (and sex is incorrectly identified as closeness) through to the fact that someone is happy in their relationship but their wife/girlfriend doesn't want to be whipped lightly with celery whilst singing the national anthem.

There are lots of problems with prostitution in the UK as it is illegal (although tolerated via 'massage' and 'escorts') but would be better if brothels were legalised. This would reduce (not remove unfortunately) the trade in girls trapped in the game forcefully.

It has probably doubled statistically mostly because more people will admit it, and it is a little easier to come by than previously. I certainly don't remember so many adverts in free papers in my area for massage when I was younger.

Of course being vocally for prostitution is an interesting position because the logical question is "So ... you go to them then?".

Prostitution is legal in the UK.

Soliciting in public isn't and IIRC a Brothel is illegal, as is being a "madam" Something about living on immoral earnings/not declaring tax etc.

Not a user of these services, but my point was not really about going to see a prostitute, more about what are the rest of the British female population doing wrong so men feel they can only get what they want be visiting one.

The UK female population is not doing anything wrong. The numbers of blokes visting prossies is nothing to do with what UK females are, or are not doing IMO, I'm not sure why you keep going on about it. On what do you base your findings? Why is it automatically the fault of the ladies?

I wonder how much the internet is to blame. Well, not exactly blame, but open people's (men's) eyes to alternate sexual practices. In the last 10 years I have seen so much fetish/hardcore pornography it's unbelievable. Just to qualify that, I don't go looking for it, but just searching for seemingly innocent things on Google, or getting things in my email (although the explicit ones containing pictures seem to have stopped recently).

So perhaps more men are thinking "okay, I wouldn't mind trying that ... "

So why is the number rising? Whats the reason for that statistic? Why would a lot of normal men pay for sex, rather than try to get into as relationship?

Do men ONLY think about sex? Or would many men like to be in a stable loving relationship, but can't find the right person to share that with?

Well oddly enough "Would you whip me with celery" is not the first thing they say to a potential GF. But if they keep getting knocked back by girls who want to "just be friends" (even I've had that little wounder!) Is it any surprise Men start to wonder just what the hell women want, and take the easy option.
