You miserable lot
Hardly his fault that the press are making a meal of it. Live and let live I say! Of course he was a drunken alco but he probably had more fun in his life despite his problems than most of us. And he could play footy quite well Hope he has a peaceful ending.

the guys dying, and he knows it, this is where i question the logic of the hippocratic oath, if its terminal (as it very obviously is) why prolong the inevitable

George Best - Legend! For a period of his life he lived the dream!
Playing and winning the European Cup with Manchester United, Sleeping with more than one Miss World, Driving the best cars of his era, being the centre of attention are parties, friends of the stars and rich as well.
Still I'm sure he'd rather have sat in front of a PC all day bitching about people........

ok he was football player, that does not infer god like status on anybody.
Probably what narks people is the fact that a Known alcoholic got a lifesaving liver and then went on to milk the talkshow circuit with his born again stance, and then proceeded to stick two fingers up at the people who helped him and drunk himself into potentially the grave.
imagine how you would feel if one of your loved ones was waiting for a liver, and it was the one he got?

well said Sws, people can be so short sighted at times because of what gets said in the press.... Too quick to judge.
He was a Hero/legend to many people...FACT
He was an alci, nobody is denying that, but alot of people who have liver transplants are alci's I dont see you moaning about that everyday but because hes in the press for his drinking its OK to slate him.

As far as i am concerned its just a load of hype over another alcoholic about to loose his life the drink.
He can't expect sympathy now because he is nearly dead from drink, he chose the lifestyle he led, he wasn't forced to drink that much and even worse didn't take note when he had the transplant.
And before you ask yes I am a football fan, a very loyal Tottenham supporter.
