What a bunch of w@nkers. Try buying something that does more than 15mpg in the first place. Idiots.

Best thing (other than a tracked vehicle) that I've ever driven in these conditions was a Steyr/Mercedes G-Wagen. About 100bhp, but it was completely unstoppable. Gears and the right tyres are what you need in these conditions, not lots of power.

Anything that sticks the Yanks' attitudes to fossil fuels and pollution back up their ***** is fine in my opinion. It's about time they started facing up to reality about what's going on around them.

The difference being, our average journeys are not 250 miles long. In America, this really is par for the course, so cheap petrol has been necessary to maintain this. Well sorry, that ain't the way it is now. Wake up and smell the coffee, America.

I tend to laugh at the people going ape over "high" fuel prices over here. Some of them seem more than a little shocked when I mention how much fuel is in the UK. Some have actually refused to believe it at all, claiming I don't know what I'm talking about
As for needing a massive pickup, if you're out in the wilderness then maybe, just maybe, it'd make sense, if you're in an urban area and don't use the truck for work, then there isn't much sense in them. Having said that, it's quite nice to hear a massive V8 rumbling alongside you in some gargantuan truck/suv
