with another infection,
and is reportedly on dialysis not a good sign,, must mean renal failure or an associated symptom..
so thats his liver and potentially now his kidneys... what do you reckon his chances are of a suitable donor
bearing in mind his past sucess with his liver

His doctor has just given him some good news and some bad news. Best says "what's the bad news?" Doc says " You've only got an hour to live." Best says "What's the good news?" Doc says "It's happy hour!!!."

I really dont find that funny in this context. Bet you would object to people joking like that about you if you were seriously ill, however it was caused.
I did not realise he was out of hospital after the first illnees he had recently. Despite his foolish behaviour I don't wish him bad!

The guy has drank himself stupid all his life, even when doctors are telling him 'stop drinking or die' and he still drinks!!!
If you ask me he's got what was coming to him. That liver could have went to someone who would have cherished it and been thankful for a second chance in life.
He knew the dangers, now he's paying the ultimate price.
A bit harsh I know but true

Pontificating
Irrespective of his drinking it is about time some people on here got their heads around why he is in itu rather than just slag the man off, hopefully no one they know will have to have a Liver transplant otherwise they will be open to the same problems
The reason he is back in hospital is because, now listen closely so you understand, sorry to sound patronising but there are so many experts on here.
The words of Professor Roger Williams, a man infinitely more qualified to discuss his condition than most on here.
"He was more susceptible to illness due to medication to suppress the immune system and prevent his body rejecting a new liver"

however he knew the risks involved and what he had to do to avoid complications,
instead he thought he would go back on the **** which presented futher risks
he had the chance to have fullfilled twilight years,
instead he chose to throw it all away.

Sorry - NO sympathy at all. The guy deserves all he gets. Just goes to show that money/fame can get you anything. As if he has EVER been in the position to offer a good place for transplant!
Somebody else died so he could have that transplant (not to mention the person who could be making good use of it)
What a waste of liver
Dan

Leslie. I apologise if my humour offended you in any way. It wasn't intended to offend by any means, just a light-hearted joke. It does seem that most other people have the same/similar humour to myself so wtf. I'd best not tell the one about the black baby then.

All accepted Stiff, I just did not think it was fair to take advantage of a man's misfortune when he is so seriously ill and maybe even on his deathbed.
I fully agree of course that he has been really stupid to drink his first liver away and to go back on the drink afterwards too.
We all make errors in life but it appears that his present situation is due to infection because of the drugs he has to take and maybe we should be a bit more generous towards him in that case. He is apparently close to death as they say!
What's that other joke then?
