Default Championship/prize winning Sausages

When my dad used to work for MAFF it had to comute to Slough 4 out of 5 days a week and on his route to work he went through a village, Wexham and saw a butchers called 'H. Dears' that looked very popular. He stoped one day and went in asking for some fat for the birds and at the same time he noticed that he sold Champion/prize winning Sausages. He brought some home. And OMG how out of this work these sausages tastes. never tasted any sausage like it. He did lots of flavors all as nice and tasty. They had loverly skins, no horrible bits in them etc...
The butcher used to enter them into comps and he got lots on medals mainly 1st & 2nd.

But they closed so have not been able to get anything like since. My mum and dad have tried every butcher in and around Harpenden and nothing even comes close.

Does anyone know of a butcher that does prize winning Sausages.
or a webiste that i can look at for other butchers that do prize winning Sausages?

Any help?

Darren

There's, one about half a mile from my house, in, of all places, Scun thorpe!

He makes Lincolnshire sausage, and has won prizes all over Britain for it. Loads of kids go to school with one of his sausage sarnies in their fists.

Spelman's.

There's a prize winning butcher near my work place called Elite Meat. They are in Starbeck, North Yorkshire, no where near you I'm afraid.

They seem to clear up every year when it comes to competitions.

http://www.supremesausages.co.uk/ are good and deliver.

I'm off to the Good Food Show at the NEC again in December - that's a great place to try out new flavours and find top suppliers.

Thumbs up

These guys are fantastic!! Old school doesn't do the shop justice !
I notice they say he is 86..I would have had him for 186 !! You dont like to hear him say "there's more through the back. I'll just go and get them" as he is away for an eternity !! Its a father and son outfit and the list of awards is amazing !
They recieve orders from all over for their stuff.
I would say though that there would seem to be a wealth of "awards" kicking about for best whatever and every wee butcher seems to have at least one.
