This is getting silly!! When you die your pension fund releases a lump sum to pay for your funeral - from next April thats going to be hit with a new 55% TAX!!!
So may leave surviving relatives having to pay for some of the funeral costs as the tax has taken so much out!!
So you earn the money, pay tax on it, pay into a pension, pay tax on THAT, the pension pays out and you pay tax on THAT too!!!!

Who do you know who spends 1.5 million on a funeral? And for that matter, how many people here will be affected?

That doesnt cover your funeral costs, but so your surviving relatives are left to foot the bill for any remainder.... but hey, **** it, your dead so who cares about the sodding relatives....

Money is a measure of the real work that is done in a society. It is absolute balderdash to say that it all belongs to the Government. You have earned it personally less all the stealth taxes we now pay and therefore what is left belongs to you completely.
It is becoming more and more apparent that the economy has been wrecked by this inept bunch over the time they have been in government. I'll be putting a sum aside to go behind a bar somewhere for the wailing relatives... my rotting corpse will either be buried at sea in international waters or mailed to number 10 depending on who is in power at the time!
