Cool Anyone going skiing this Christmas?

Myself, wife and four friends off the the Alps 22/12/05 and back home 03/01/06

Can't wait - but need to lose some weight (become a bit of a Fat Boy - so the wife informs me).......

Rich - cancel the Alps and go to Banff. You won't regret it!

Hello Bren,

How are you?

I would cancel, but my family have a home in the French Alps near Grenoble, so lodging is free!

Banff is next on the places to visit.

Yep, quality place...although my favourite skiing destination in the world is Lake Louise, an hour from Banff. It is the most increidibly beautiful place in the world and the skiing is superb.

Yip totally agree with you Chop

From Banff me and the missus did Mount Norquay (which we only did for one day), Sunshine Village and Lake Louise

We did sunshine too, it is quite exposed and was a little windy the day we went but it was still superb skiing.

For anyone who has not been to get to Sunshine village (hotels, shops etc) you have to get a cable car, there is nothing at base level. It is a pretty cool place but fairly quiet.

yeah, and don't try and snowboard out of Sunshine at the end of the day, stop at the gondola. There is X miles of flaaaat runout....

I don't think anyone really tries to do Norquay for more than a day? I can't even be bothered to attend the night-skiing there now.
