Petrol Station Ghost Towns
Absolutely no cars in the petrol station this morning, yet there was plenty fuel available. I only went to use the shop.
So everyone must have a full tank.
That showed the government

Gotta laugh at all the lemmings that queued for hours for no reason to spend more than ever on fuel they didn't need to buy. No wonder the government has such contempt for the population.

There was about ten bearded lorry drivers with plackards ( sp ) outside the refineries, if stares could of stopped the lorrys it could of worked

Just been to fill up ready to go marshalling at Wales Rally GB tomorrow. Local shell garage was almost deserted but had run out of Optimax.
Drove to the other (smaller) shell garage on the outskirts of town and that was similarly empty, though fortunately they had plenty of Optimax so i filled the tank and a jerry can brimfull.

I may have missed something here - what long term benefit did we get from the last lot of blockades....?
Fossil fuels are a finite resource - as they get more scarce prices go up. The government will always tax us to death - if they take it off petrol, they'll put it someplace else.
If people want to protest then go ahead - that's the benefit of living in a democracy. And maybe if someone could convince me there really was a point to protesting then I'd consider doing it as well.

Like the guy who tried to blockade a depot yesterday, and was simply dragged from his car by the police and arrested, and the car removed.
Blockades will not happen again due to the new police powers, that's why all the protest leaders have made statements to say they won't be blockades just demonstrations, because they know they can't blockade.
