I've been offline for a week - came back, married!
I am now a husband
Left the family home in Surrey last Wednesday to travel up to a rented cottage in Cheshire that my side of the family were using as a base for the week. My wife's family live up there and her mum can't travel very far, so the venue had to be up there, even though 90% of the guests live in the South!
Drove up in the Westfield, the wife drove the RA - even with limited sound deadening and low gearing, our daughter still slept most of the journey .
Finally completed my speech on Friday, dropped the Westy off at the venue and prayed (in an atheist type of way) that the weather would stay dry.
It didn't But TBH it didn't really hinder the day, light levels were good for the photographer and we got all the shots she wanted inbetween the intermittant showers. The ceremony and reception was all in one place, so no spoilt hairdo's etc getting from one place to the other. My plan to take my new bride for a spin in the westy in front of all the guests were scuppered, nevermind.
My bride looked fantastic, the best man had the rings, we didn't fluff our lines and the speeches went down well My daughter and her cousin (21 months and 17 months respectively) were flowergirls and almost stole the show from my wife, although not quite!
The only photos I have ATM of the cars is just after I put the ribbons on.
The cars:
The venue - Wrenbury hall, Cheshire
I must say if anyone is looking for a wedding venue in Cheshire, either the reception or the whole show, this place is just awesome, both in the setting and the professionalism of staff.
Honeymoon on Saturday, Greece for a week
Have only just stopped smiling . Just as I walked back into the office, incedently...

Thanks all
Did I say that? My 'go easy on the booze' policy was thrown to one side once the speeches were over Halkidiki, Greece!
I know what you mean, although TBH I've been saying it for a while since we've got engaged - 'my partner/girlfriend/fiancee' just doesn't sound good IMO
She, however fell at the first hurdle. Ordering the cab to take us home from Curshaw's (Nantwich if you know that area) on the Monday she gave her maiden name, twice over the phone to the cab office, then proceeded to spell it out slowly to them for good measure. Three chances to correct herself and she didn't even compute Typical

you do get used to saying "my wife" eventually

Oooo, forgot to say - being a civil ceremony there was no religious drivel, nor hymns - double bonus IMO (and the wifes, lol)
Which meant we could choose our own music , so we had
Brides entrance: Smokebelch2 - The Sabres of Paradise
Signing the register: Kissing You - Des'Ree, then Spend a lifetime - Jamiroquai
Bride and groom exit: You and me Song - WannaDies, then Cosmic Girl - Jamiroquai
1st Dance: Inside my love - Minnie Riperton (sped up 10% since its soooo slow)
2nd Dance: Say a little Prayer - Bomb the Bass
3rd Dance: To be in love - Masters at work
The DJ did well too, taking on board the No Jive bunny, no Grease megamix, no Genesis, bryan Adams etc etc lecture given a week previous

Best Wishes to you both

LOL these are the only photos I have at present, i.e the ones I took before the ceremony before people arrived! Didn't touch the camera after that!
PMSL there was me outside chatting to the smokers union, saying how he's got a list so its only approved tunes, then he starts taking requests - bad ones That one came on and I got a bit of stick for that LOL (from the "too cool to dance" brigade)

was looking at Alvaston Hall myself as me and Mr Shonen will be tying the knot next year. Might have a look at Wrenbury, it really does look lovely.
Congratulations Jay by the way
