not quite the same problem but was prescribed a drug that was only available in South Africa. Not exactly much use
Put in a complaint to the NHS, I found the number off the website and sat through a few automated messages before I could speak to a human being.

Must be our local quacks eh Sara!

Unhappy

You would think that even a busy doctor could fill out something as important as a prescription clearly so it could be read by anyone.

My GP types in the details on his PC, then prints prescriptions out whilst it updates your medical records as it goes ........

Tell your local surgery to move into the 21st century

Yup - mine does exactly the same - and puts a note about repeat prescriptions if they are appropriate, so if you come in for them you don't need to see him.

Totally agree Paul........I reckon my GP has to get someone to tell him where the power switch is for the PC

Still......suppose nothing beats experience

Mine too, AND I order my repeats online And book appointments that way too ! For someone who goes into a cold sweat on entering the surgery, this is bliss for me. It saves all that hanging around on the phone and re-dialling etc.

Hi,
My dad is doctor and im currently working for him over the summer. His hand writing is very poor, however all local practices' receive funding including PCT funding for comps. My dad is not great with P.C but knows enough to print prescriptions.

Have a word with your doctor, or better still a word the practice manager and tell them to get upto date as REQUIRED.

All the best, hope the little one gets well soon

lol, dont suppose you had to collect it yourself?

i think my surgery is starting to be pc friendly, but they have merged two practices into one and i dont think their system can handle the extra patients. i live in a village so maybe they are more backwards here than over places

Why not just mention it to the doctor concerned. Bet he is pretty busy at the best of times.

I have noticed that since my sister has qualified, her handwriting has become considerably worse. I think they must tranquilize all doctors, so the have no proper movement of their hands
