Things like that happen every day but aren't often reported. It's only because it's a 737 with a problem that vaguely may possibly be linked with what happened to the Cyprus plane that it even got a mention.

Have a read through a few copies of Flight International - you would be suprised what goes on.

After the Concorde crash, all the Concorde's were grounded. If there were a serious threat, surely all 737's would be grounded too.
On the other hand, maybe there is just a tad more commercial pressure to grounding 737's.....

Pressurisation failure does not happen that often, I only had it happen once in a Canberra during an airtest. Looks like all the warning systems worked exactly as they should have done in this case anyway.

Dont panic....remember in the early 90,s, every day a kid was being chewed by a pitball dog ...its just a fad..mmmmmm.......air travel is still the safest way of getting to A to B, unless you crash.

Les, have you ever considered writing your memoirs, I for one would like to read them (not that I dont enjoy the snippets we get).
I myself have had explosive decompresion a few time on aircraft, much to the disgust of my fellow passengers.....
