it was along the lines of 2 mums sat there chatting saying that one of their sons is a suicide bomber, one is a car bomber and then they say "they blow up fast dont they"

I prefer the one about the chap wanting a blow-up doll (Tweaky?) and was given a wide choice of colours and religions. He chose the Muslim doll 'cos it blew itself up.........

Its always happened, i.e. the sick joke, people use it as a way of coping, I think the jokes are on pretty dodgy ground, I personally am not offended as if I had been injured or lost someone I think I could have coped with a few jokes as you know people are not laughing at the actual death and destruction, I think its more a case of whether the jokes can be considered racist, to be honest they do have a basis in fact, i.e. it has been Muslim (extremists granted) people blowing themselves and others up, not the Jewish, Hindu, Catholic or Budhist communities. Basically if you are going to blow up buses and trains you may have to put up with the odd lame joke, if this is not something you can cope with, perhaps think twice about doing or condoning it.
I do feel sorry for the Muslims that are taking this kind of stick that feel sick and disgusted about the bombings, however I take stick daily for other reasons, I can take a joke and do take the p1ss out of myself sometimes so I would hope there is a certain ammount of acknowledgement that stuff like this is ineviatable and maybe even the odd chuckle.
