The dollar has strengthened in the last few months - £/$ was at 1.90-1.95 a few months back and has dropped back to 1.73....but last week the $ weakened again and dropped back to 1.77....even with the UK interest rate drop.
You're prob not going to get hugely better than buying $ now.
