They're giving up violence forever, but "not until 1600BST today"....
...why? Why not "with immediate effect". Does that give their members a 3 hour window to go and do a few kneecappings before the deadline?????

So what you are saying is that you want all Muslims "sorting out" because of recent terrorist activity in this country. 
Thats like saying you would of wanted all the Irish "sorting out" because of the IRA

I think if Muslims (or any religion) wants to live in Britain which is a Christian country they should intregrate into our way of life and not force us to implement or adopt their way of life. How many Catholic churches are their in Muslim countries? if we were could stealing in a muslim country would we get away with a ticking off or would we have our hand cut off, if we drank alcohol would we get a ticking off or would we get jailed or maybe even excecuted?
And don't start about Brits intergrating when we move aborad as that is different.
We do not decide to move to (insert muslim country) and start suicide bombing it because we do not believe in their way of life, I lived in Kuwait for a while and had no problem with them going about their muslim business, I did not try to convert them to christianity or blow up a bus load of them in the name of being a catholic.
I have got work to do other wise I could go on but there is not much point is there.

If you consider that they believe they are a legitimate army, then if they hand the weapons over to the army, that would be seen as a surrender (Anyone remember Paisley dancing down the garvaghy road, setting the parades issue back 10 years in the process) - Sinn Fein are not asking that the British Army hand over the weapons they take off the streets to the IRA, so why should the reverse be true.
The whole decomissioning think is a smokescreen anyway. As no-one really knows all the stuff they have, they could pile half of it up in front of city hall and give Paisley an angle grinder - no-one could be really sure if they had anything left. On the flip side, if the hand over everything, Paisley will say - that is only half - no deal until we get the rest. - Fairly similar to George Dubbya and Tony asking Saddam to hand over his WMD's or else.
If there was a method of destroying all the current arms to everyones complete satisfaction (which there probably isn't) then there would be nothing to stop them rearming in 6 months or 6 years anyway, so I completely fail to see the importance of decomissioning in the big picture

All those members with vast amounts of power are not going to walk away and go back to work. They are going to become gangsters drug dealers run protection rackets and generally cause problems for years
