Exclamation Sky users - SCAM

General shout out to all Sky Subscribers.

Beware of a Scam that has just been tried on me.

Got a voicemail with a ref number and a phone number (0207 107 8720)
I called the number to be told I owe £42.00 to RHF Productions (Sky **** - Red Hot TV) but if I send a cheque now to these guys in West Yorkshire I can settle for £17.94

Yeah right...

What a scam...

Oh - I know what you'll say by the way, and no I didn't.

You've already been scammed if you are paying for Sky TV, what difference does a few more quid make?

Perhaps because you are signing up to pay Rupert Murdoch a princely sum on a monthly basis for the rest of your life. In exchange you get a bunch of crap TV programs for you to waste yet more of your valuable* life watching.
It's dross for the feeble minded, suck that cathode ray nipple drones.

*caveat: many scoobynetters lives don't seem to be valuable or worthwhile so maybe you can ignore this one

You think Sky is a rip off, I'm sure you'd agree that football tickets are a rip off too?

Sky's a rip off because not only do they load it with adverts aimed squarely at the underclass; but they make you pay for the privilege of watching them as well.

I phoned up and cancelled my subscription a couple of years ago. When I had the 'we don't want you to leave' phonecall I told the supervisor exactly why I was cancelling, I even asked if I could pay extra and have the adverts blocked, but sadly they won't do that.

Thieving *****.

you cant be ripped off when buying something you dont need. Council tax...yes........petrol......yes (sort of) but not sky, you either want it and pay for it or you dont. The only ppl who cry rip off are those that want it but cant afford it.

If you mean to watch premiersh1t matches then yes they probably are. It does have the advantage of being real though, of actually doing something instead of sitting inside your home like a good little unit lapping up whatever dross is served up into the trough.

Of course you can, what they do is get you hooked by giving you 'free' box/dish etc then slowly milk you dry while jacking up the price. I'd challenge any of the poor gimps that buy this **** to try giving it up for a while.
You can't and won't even entertain the idea.

You are talking as if affording Sky somehow requires wealth. As far as I've seen when I'm in the UK it's very popular with people who live in the type of places paid for by benefits.

I'm not boo hoo-ing as you put it merely pointing out that Sky is in itself a rip-off.

Er, not strictly true, certainly not in my case. I can afford it, I don't want it anymore (haven't had Sky for 2 years and don't want/miss it), but I still think it's a rip off IMHO.

Sky plus does sound a good idea from what I've heard, I could afford that too but I don't watch enough TV (of any kind) to justify subscribing.

I prefer to do 'real' things, like diving.

"rip off" means steal/rob/cheat.....................quite frankly if i am being cheated while watching cool movies for a few £££ then they can crack on.

I have heard of suggested methods, but they don't actually work long term. The usual one if unplugging the phone line so the data can't be sent back - but they catch up with you in the end.

Which cool movies? As far as I ever saw they were mostly mass market dross and worse than that edited and you couldn't record any of them.
If you don't mind being ripped off for a few quid then let me have your home address and bank account details. I'll come round and give you some low quality entertainment before robbing you.
More seriously the idea is to get a monopoly, get you all hooked then jack up the prices and see you and your idiot children paying through the nose until the collapse of western society.
