The 'rag' is an asian thing.Something that originates from India and Pakistan.
Its actually a 'paranda',something that would normaly be platted into a womans hair to enhance the look of her hair.
Dont ask me why its hung on the car though, but I know its meant to be cool amongst Asians.
Muslims dont like dogs, because it is said by the holy prophet Muhammad, that where dogs reside,no Angels will visit, also they are dirty animals and their spit contains lots of germs.
Islam teaches cleanliness ( washing/ablushion(sp) 5 times a day,shaving pubes/armpits,circumcision etc),so a dog is a no no,only allowed for guarding,not as a pet.
Hope that helps

They have run over someone and their turban has snagged. ??
Perhaps it indicates "Bomb on board." A little more discrete than the yellow square window stickers.

perhaps you can tell me a little more about the shaven soul beaver

Have a laugh if you wannu!
Black rags/hair extensions in India are tied to the back of the vehicles coz their superstious beliefs say that any black coloured thing will protect your vehicle from evil eye.
There are some slogans as well they write on the back of the lorry etc.If I tell you some, you will be in stitches
They worship everything in India including scooters, rickshaws all sorts.
Everything is holy in India, man!Dont ask me why

Try Indonesia!, I parked my car at a friends house for a couple of hours and when I came back it was covered in flowers, fruit and offerings to the gods, also had incense sticks poking out of every orifice! Couldnt take them off so had to drive along with all these things tied to the windscreen wipers flapping all over the place. Apparently it was ceromony of the car that day!

Look at this!>>>>>>>>
I bet this has been worshipped too
I must tell you that roads in third world countries are very unsafe Thats one of the reasons why road vehicles are worshipped so that, everything remains safe.
In a difficult country like India, people have to have something to hold on to.For them its beliefs I suppose!
