I have to go back to Belgium tomorrow:(
Because of work,or rather lack of it here in the UK.
My company has asked me to go back to Belgium for a while
I've spent the best part of the last two years out there and I absolutely detest the bluddy place
So come on people,I need your help to cheer me up
Help me compile a list of the good points about Belgium
1, The Beer
2,The meats from the Supermarkets
3,cheap tobacco
4,98 ron gas
5,more interesting countries are close by
....anymore?and don't say chocolate,cos I hate that as well
Jon

The Belgians are just downright weird (and arrogant) - half of them remind me of serial killers. Might be OK for the odd weekend away but when you work with them 5 days a week it's a different story.
Brussels is a ghost town after 6pm, the supermarkets suck and the whole place is just boring, especially with no friends.

Serial killers deffo. Saw a prog on tv last night about King Leopold II and the Congo. Made any dodgy Brit history look like an episode of Rainbow. To incentivise the locals to hand over more rubber they shot them, and to prove the bullets weren't wasted, the employed militia had to show a cut off hand for every bullet they were issued. And only 100 or so years ago...
...their chips are good though

The Ardennes is nice (we went canoeing), Bruges is good once or twice, Antwerp is fantastic for eye candy. Going to a club at midnight with not many people there yet, dancing until 5am and then going to a bakery for fresh-baked pasties for breakfast, yummm...
Amsterdam 3 hrs drive, Paris 3 hrs drive, Strasbourg 4 hrs drive. Spa if you want motorsport.
Just watch out for the serial killers (also known as motorists, usually with only five characters on the registration plate)

Plus point is you won't have to spend much time in the company of ignorant English pigs while your there.
Another you get chance to practice Wallonian French and Flemish
Yet another if you drive an English reg'd car you can set off as many fixed radars as you like and not get done
