Cool Garing error in Die Hard 2 that's just occurred to me

Watched Die Hard 2 on DVD last night for the umpteenth time, and it's just occurred to me that Andrews Air Force base is right next door to Washington Dulles airport, and for obvious reasons, their tower monitors all air traffic in the Washington area as a matter of course.

Surely they would have noticed what was going on and,

a) prevented the 1st airliner from being crashed into the runway, and

b) taken the aircraft with fuel emergencies themselves.

I've heard about this but never, ever seen an e-type in Ben Hur. You sure this isn't just an Urban Myth?

And not only that, there's this :

The terrorists some how raise the elevation of the airport in relation to the ILS (instrument landing system). This causes one of the jets to crash. The ILS glide slope is broadcast from a fixed antenna beside the runway, 1000 feet from the approach end. The glide slope is fixed at (usually) 3 degrees. Even if someone changed the slope (ie, degrees of slant), it would still terminate on the runway at the touchdown zone. Besides, the pilots have charts that give all pertinent information about the ILS and also have altimeters, radar altimeters, ground proximity warning systems (GPWS), and brains (duh). They would not have descended into the ground even if the terrorists had tampered with the ILS.

You're joking surely

episode 4, the Star wars, on the Death Star when the stormtroopers enter the room that R2 and C3PO have been left behind in, when the others go off to rescue the princess.

The rear of the E-Type is supposedly visible behind one of the buildings during the Chariot Race

I wouldn't go to the bother of watching it if I was you, if you've got that much time to spare you'd have a better time coming and watching the paint dry on my lounge wall
