Yes - just found it, it was a link to a different site though, so my initial search didn't find it!

There are SPECS through the M1 Roadworks in Leciester as well - b@stards, think I may have been stiffed there the other night.

I suppose that you can be done for being over the limit between any two of the camera stations rather than the average over the whole distance1

I wasn't trying to call SIAL on you Olly, I was seriously looking for it earlier to mention to a colleague

Nice heads-up on the M1 thanks, I'm trolleying off down south saturday morning so I'll keep an eye out

Oh yes, Leslie. There is a computer attached to the system that logs the time you pass all the cameras. It knows the distance between all the cameras, and calculates your average speed using every permutation.

If any of the average speeds it calculates are over the limit, then its ticket time.

So in theory, you could be banned quite easily on this stretch of road in a single journey, with it having 40 or so zones on it!

In theory yes, but that would be very bad PR. So you tend to get only done once or twice on a stretch of road on a particular day.

Although there have been stories floating around the web about other traps like this where people have been banned from one journey. Lots of bad PR though, so tends not to happen anymore.
