Need fun things to do
I need some ideas on some fun things to do to help motivate someone and lift their mood.
So far I have thought of going to the country for the weekend and maybe include cycling and a pub (although not together) and walking.
I also thought of a water fight (as it is warm).
I am a bit stuck now. Something leaning towards a little silly would probably be a good idea as opposed to thrill seeking fun, as it would result in some laughter.

when you're done there the tai-pan restaurant at the theatre district is excellent.
as for the country i took the missus to the cotswolds a few months back as the towns there have a lovely 'feel good' thing about them. spent the day walking round broadway then checked into fosse manor in stow-on-the-wold. their restaurant is excellent so rounds off any day quite nicely.

Buy him a Cobblers season ticket, then again it may depress him more!
How about a comedy club if you want to see him chuckle?

Choose something very active as the endorphins released as a result of hard exercise can help mild depression and make people feel good. Cycling, gym, paintballing could all work. I'd avoid pubs though - if you're feeling down already alcohol will only make matters worse when the inebriation wears off.

What memories
Went to the Bol D'Or with a m8. We arrived early, found a space, set our tent up & went & got drunk. We came back in the dark to find that the whole area around us was full of French trying to stick up tents...
I became "Le Monsieur de Tents" & went around in bad franglais "helping" people to errect their tents. Lots of entente cordiale but not a lot of tents up
We all had a good laugh the next day

If your in northampton how about a spot of karting at Whilton Mill just off the A5? They have an arrive and drive circuit and there may also be some club racing on the full circuit that you can watch in the sunshine after. There's a nice pub at Whilton locks right next to the circuit and you can watch the canal boats chug buy as you have a nice lazy lunch. And if he really loves his motorsport Silverstone is 30 minutes away from Whilton Mill and I'm sure there will be something going on there this weekend.

Thanks for the latest ideas, the thrill/fun ones such as the airsoft wont be of help as I don't think this will be a mood lifting event.
I think some of these will give the rest of us ideas for days out.
Are there any kid orientated things that an adult could do?
I thought of bouncy castle, but that may be too silly.

How about a parachute jump? That'll get the adrenaline / endorphins (sp?) going
Can just see the headlines:
