Default Home and Contents Insurance Recommendations Wanted

We're after one with unlimited contents, who can you recommend? They should have a decent limit regarding mountain bikes too. None of this poxy Sainsbury's max value of £500 and not even able to pay extra to increase it.

TIA
Iain

Ours is with Woolwich with unlimited contents insurance although there is a maximum per high risk item. You can pay extra to cover personal loss out of the home e.g. if your watch was stolen etc

They're showing a £50K limit, and digging deeper bikes are only up to £500.

Anyone with M&S?

Got mine through e-sure now. They were cheapest by far. I also declared 2 mountain bikes both worth over 2.5k each. premiun went up by about 50quid, most impressed.

Legal & General. You can specify everything you want to. Why do you need unlimited contents?
Buildings - blanket policy - 500k rebuild or specified cost if greater
Contents - 20, 35 or 50k, or specified if greater
Bikes - up to £500, no questions, above 500 they need the model and frame number
Personal possesions - 10% of the contents cover with additional specified items as requested

I recently spent some time trying to beat out home and contents with LV and i did, but you have to play them off against each other. In the end i went with direct line, cheaptest by far, i pay around 275 a year for a 4 bed house, with accidental damage

Didn't want to go around having to price up absolutely everything from carpets to paintings to lights etc in case of anything happening, not just burglary. I know of someone who lost absolutely everything when the family house was razed to the ground. I'd rather be safe than sorry and its only £34 a month anyway.

Ditto re the unlimited contents. (Except thankfully not knowing someone who's lost everything!)

Bikes at under £500 is no use for mountain biking nowadays. M&S's cover is for items up to £4k, and that's worldwide. They are more expensive than Sainsbury's, but it's cheaper than paying extra for a specific cycle policy.
