I am trying to find out who wrote this. Apparently it won some awards a couple of years back. I have tried Google and lots of hits on song itself but no credits listed.

I think Howard from the Halifax was the first to write the song and then Liberty X buggered it up with their cover version

I believe a girl called Lucie Silvas wrote a couple of their songs, but I'm not sure if this is one of hers.

It's a girl called Michelle Escoffrey. She also wrote stuff with Artful Dodger

I think it was a guy called George something-or-other. He's quite well known in the London music scene. He came down from London with a pal to see my lad play in his band and was quite impressed. So I am trying to do some homework on the guy. David

Yes that does help. And I take on board your comments about being wary - hence my trying to do a bit of "homework"!
As it happens my boy is at college (ACM Guildford) and just doing the course on "how not to get ripped off" which is pretty useful and constructed by people in the industry like yourself. Actually George seemed an OK guy despite the shades and mandatory BEEMA Thanks again, David (I'll pm you when I track him down and ask if you have heard of him)
