I used to have a mark 1 gti in oak green, lovely car.
Just hope your not on a wind up with this thread, because although they are sooo slow now compared to my scoob. I still keep a lot of respect for the FIRST hot hatch.

And I've owned them all except the last one - which doesnt count because of its ridiculous cost.
Always was gutted that I never owned an oak green one but could hardly ever find one for sale for a reasonable price when i was skint 7-8 years ago

Never been a big Golf fan, but that's very nice - good to see any of the old classics in original condition for sale.

If it had not been stolen I would still have my Mk1, so so rare in the proper oak green, would be worth a fortune.
Still say the Mk1 ruled over the Mk2 though. so much more fun to drive.

always loved mk2 golf gti`s a couple of me mates have got em with 1.8 20v turbos in em tho a womans ran in to the bk of this one last wk and hes waiting to see if they right it off if they do another mate knows where theres a golf synchro (4wd very rare)so he may be lookin at another project with that and the 1.8 20v lump,other mates is a red 5dr same engine runnin 285bhp 310 lb/ft proper tool but traction is a prob with just fwd.

My Mk2 Gti
Im with you Alan,
I have my scoob for the weekend but commute every day in my Mk2 Gti. got 140,000 on the clock and still purs and passes MOT every year, does 40mpg regularly to London and back
few pics just for the sake of it!!
