Look up your old vehicles
http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp (click Vehicle Enquiry)
Been looking up the old cars I owned. My old 205 GTi is still going strong based on the last V5 registration it seems. I sold it 7.5 years ago when it had over 120,000 on the clock!
It must have a good home. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

Ahhh my old XR3 exists....I wonder if the current owner fixed 5th gear (or the lack of ).
I also wonder if can still scrape through emissions tests without its cat (Welding in a straight-thru when the original cat shattered).
I miss that car <sniff> - I still have the knuckle scars

All of mine are dead, apart from one Only my old abused 106 GTi is still on the road. That thing was a wreck when I left it. Peugeot did not build the engine properly, and I had to trade it in as a non-runner
At least I got the last laugh. 1) I sued the ba*tards. 2) I got one over on the garage. They thought they were ripping me off with the price they offered. Little did they know the brakes were shot, the clutch was going, the hearbox was dying, the CAT had gone, and a few other bits They ended up paying a fair price, which is nice to see for a change

My Dutton appears to have been in the UK for a bit longer than I thought - sold it to a German in 1992. Unlicensed now though. As is my first 205GTi. Forgotten the reg of my second.

My 1st car (1987 Escort Pop) was last V5'd in 2000. It is now "unlicensed" does this mean it is dead? Please advise - I need to know...
If it still exists I want to buy it back will pay 10times face value...

All cars were issued with new a V5 last year regardless of any change or request...that new stupid two page EU jobby.
The old style single sheet V5s are obsolete..
The only exception maybe if it hadn't been taxed and declared sorn for a long time, or you already have the new style two page V5.

All of my MKI & MKII RS Escorts appear to be dead; mind you I scrapped most of them myself!
My Series 1 RS Turbo also appears to be dead. I left it in a garage for a few years whilst it rotted away, then sold it to some keen lad (for a nice amount!) who reckoned he was going to restore it – Not been taxed since the last one I put on it.
309 GTi, 3 Door Sierra Cosworth, MY99 Scooby – All going strong.
Have you all put your oldies on http://www.drivearchive.co.uk ?

The whole site is so inaccurate it's comical ....
1) They even have my current car as being a 1297cc and should only have to pay £110 tax on it PA
Maybe that's why it feels underpowered.
2) Old RED Astra sri, know the guy who has it and has it registered all accurately in his name.... says it's green
3) Old prelude, guy still lives in the same vilage. SORN according to the website. Still has a current tax disc on it
............more to the point, some **** has painted my old beetle purple
