Default can I send a parcel wieghing 16kg through Royal Mail?

I've got to send a server to someone.

It weighs 16kg and the box is 57x57x40cm.

Is this too big to send through the royal mail? Anyone sent something this big?

Dont want to carry it down to my local post office to be told that its too big.

Or can someone recommend a good courier?

hi mate
The postoffice with take items upto 20KG, but they will only take if the box fits throught the counter whole.. sometimes they will say they cant take it and you have to take it to you nearest parcelforce depot. The other option is that parcelforce collect from your property or even DHL. look at www.parcelforce.com or dhl.co.uk and they will have details.

OK. it definately wont fit under the counter.

DHL want £80+. Parcelforce want £25. Do you need a business account to have them collect from you? Anybody used this service?

its going have to parcelforce.

I charged the client £30 for delivery, look a bit odd if it takes 3 days to get there and has a sticker on it that says £11.

Just a shame the nearest parcelforce depot is about 30mins away.
