Or try this:
1 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
4 teaspoons salt, or to taste
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
4 long skewers
1 tablespoon butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons paprika
3 teaspoons salt, or to taste
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, 2 teaspoons cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, and 4 teaspoons salt. Stir in chicken, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat a grill for high heat.
Lightly oil the grill grate. Thread chicken onto skewers, and discard marinade. Grill until juices run clear, about 5 minutes on each side.
Melt butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic and jalapeno for 1 minute. Season with 2 teaspoons cumin, paprika, and 3 teaspoons salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer on low heat until sauce thickens, about 20 minutes. Add grilled chicken, and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter, and garnish with fresh cilantro.

That'll not be as good as making it yourself but be better than a ready meal.

Sainsbury's do an ok one which comes with a whole chicken breast, think it could be one of their 'taste the difference' range. Have to agree with the other comments though on the merits of preparing it yourself from scratch if you have time.

personally i just order a tenners worth from the takeaway (90% of places do free delivery)
eat half and freeze the rest
keeps for months and before you ask isnt hazardous for health
supermarkets can rarely compare to takeaways

Chip - any suggestions where to get your missing ingredient m8: a Tandoor
I find Marks' curries to be THE best - CTM & Jalfrezi being tops. Tesco's are much better value and pretty good too. Morrisons/Asda are apalling.
Why dont home made curries taste right? I'm a good cook but camt get this one 'restaurant right' at all. Maybe I'm a wimp with the ghee???

I think to get that authentic indian flavour, you need more chefs' own "special white or green sauce".
Never hade a home made curry that came close to an indian, the sainsburys jobs are about the best I have come across

Get a delivery for a good curry house.
Remember that a curry from a bad curry house is better than one from a supermarket - or is a a bad day on the beach is better than a good day in the office.
