Better than dance **** but I agree their playlist seems pretty short. Last sunday's drive to Southampton (3 hrs) meant I got to listen to the new Foo Fighters' track 3 times! Now, I do actually like it but that's too much.

I'm with PG,in general its ok, the music is pretty good at the moment. I don't mind spoonie, sara *** doesnt even get airtime on my radio, and that ******* celebrity **** licker Jo Whiley is the most annoying "DJ" I have ever heard

its fine, there is alot of good music out there atm. although because the DJs are changing every couple of hours they all want to play the lastest in the charts. hence the annoyance of listening to the same song over and over.

Cant stand local stations though because of the adverts that last forever.

Radio 2 etc are just sh!te unless your 50+

Radio1 is so chav it hurts. Just listen and compare their news reports to that of other stations. Example: when the Budget was announced, Radio1s coverage of it was the price of "booze and ****" and that was about it. You'd be better informed watching Newsround. As for the music, well it's w*nk isn't it, they have to play the latest stuff whether it's good or not (usually the latter), whereas everyone else plays what they want.

I have the unfortunate-ness of working in a small enclave of south london where in my office+workshop all i can pickup is radio 1. that means jo whiley and that makes me depressed and angry. All they play IMO is stuff you'd expect to hear at glastonbury, annoying rock and indie bands that all sound the fcukin same...and throw the odd dance tune in too.

prefer kiss altho all you get on that now is rnb every tune.

I dont want to have to revert back to capital fm yet, and im only in my 20's so wont be listenin to radio 2

actually saying that there is one redeeming factor. Driving home from manchester in the middle of the night they had from 1 - 5 some excellent dance/trance driving stuff and a bit of drum n bass. keep you awake stuff !!

I remember that days I bemoaned the lack of guitar music on Radio 1 in the daytime. Havent listened to Radio 1 for ages. Now I don't think I'd listen to it by choice by the sounds of it.

BBC 6 music is the best thing since sliced bread, and Im well and truly a convert.

Chris Moyles is the saviour of Radio 1. Jo Whiley is crap and as soon as she comes on i switch off. sara *** is ok but cant understand a word she says. The rest are all pretty lame

I don't think it's just that people are getting older. I remember only a few years ago they used to play tracks by bands who actually wrote songs, played instruments and sang stuff.

These days, it's all "urban" i.e. some talentless d1ckhead playing someone elses track on a record player, adding a few sound effects, and maybe shouting about ho's and b1tches etc.

Also totally agree about the laughable 'news' coverage, they only mention the sort of $hite your average chav, Sun reader, or Trisha viewer would be interested in.

Can't really blame the radio stations though, they just pander to the lowest common denominator (i.e. the chavs) so they can quote healthy listening figures. Bit like channel 5 on TV.

Don’t listen to it in the day but Saturday night from 11pm to 7am Sunday morning is cracking. Fergie kicks it off at 11pm till 1am, Essential Mix 1 - 3, The Residency 3 - 5 and a bit of chill out 5 - 7 with the Blue Room.

Great listening when can’t go out clubbing on a Saturday night.

I must be getting old, now listen to R2 + R4 occaisionally, mostly 5 live or Horizon, apart from the adverts Horiaon seems better than R1 and the DJ's are less annoying.
