anyone know much about birds?
found this
on the car park on the front of the house.
its not too distressed but has been catted(
)across the chest
rspb not open till later-any sugestions on the best course of actions-and anyone know what type it is?
its a little more grey than the pics show-poss crow or magpie?

bugger it just expired-on looking tidy it was pretty badly opened up the feathers just covered it up
today i really fecking hate cats-especially my next door neighbour's,its the second time ive caught it with a bird

Sorry the bird died, I'll see if Mrs Leslie can identify it when she gets back later.
No way to train that instinct out of a cat or to stop it from roaming. We are lucky that our cat won't chase birds when they are feeding on our back garden, but he takes no prisoners when the rats pinch the bird food!

Sorry to hear that the bird died.
I used to be indifferent to cats but since I caught one in MY garden doing its nail scratchy thing on my convertible classic saab they have now gone in my room 101!
Supersoaker at the ready.
Can't wait until circumstances are right to get another dog.

According to RSPB figures cats kill six million birds in Britain annually, that's a lot of birds.

Looks like a baby blackbird
They usually leave the nest and run around on the ground for 1-2wks before learning to fly. Makes them easy prey to cats, small children, etc

of course using your logic you wont have a problem with me trapping your cat for food then?(or will that involve the police) or my kids being let out late at night to be a general annoyance,damage your property etc(or will that involve an ASBO)

i have to activly stop the cat getting into my ferret cage(must be a bit dull-the cat that is) to stop the inevitable(legal) outcome
i just wish that some cat owners would take a more socially responsible attitude toward thier pets-most do but as usuall its the vocal minority that cause "people like me and ajm"(thats good when you know nowt about me)to tarnish the rest with the same brush
