Been twice for hols as I have family out there. It is very nice indeed, go in the summer, there are lots of things to do.

Capliano (sp) bridge

Do the Sea to Sky highway drive (this goes from Vancouver to Whistler) most awesome views.

Stanley Park and downtown Van

Granville Island

Vancouver Island

Rockies with the three national Parks - Bannf, Jasper and can't remember the other one..

Lake Louise.

I did this and much more over two holidays, each of them were two weeks.

Can't wait to move out there.

Do two weeks or 10 days at least.

You will really enjoy it . Can even direct you to the sweetest little guest house that does the most sumptuous breakfasts ever if you want.
Very English in climate but , the traffic actually stops to let pedestrians cross the road.
As for sight seeing , all of the above plus so much within the city itself too. Take a float plane flight, its a must.
We used public transport during our stay and found it very easy to get about.
I want to go back !!!!
