Unhappy RIP Gerry Marshall

Taken from Pistonheads, Gerry Marshall died yesterday whilst testing a Camaro at Silverstone. Apparantly it was from a heart attack.

Terrible shame, at least he died doing something he liked though

A fantastic straight talking character and a superb driver to boot, very entertaining with it.

Really sorry to hear that news. I used to get on really well with him when we were racing at the same meetings.

I remember him turning up at Brands and getting an entry in a Mini on the day. The Mini got trashed in the race, but the problem was, it belonged to a customer at the garage and he had borrowed it for the day!

He was a real "one-off"

Sad, sad news. A real entertainer who'd drive almost anything sideways.

A great character, and never forgot his roots; on several occasions he came back to our small car club (from where he set out in motorsport), an inspiration to us all. He will be missed.

Oh dear. Gerry Marshall was a friend of my uncles. He was one of the most talented racers of his generation.
