Downloaded a live version of this and thought it was excellent - similar sort of sound to 'clocks' - also looking forward to getting the album!

Boring song from an incredibly bland boring band.

That lot are just a bunch of ******* students — Chris Martin looks like a f***in’ geography teacher. What’s all that f***in’ s*** with writing messages about Free Trade on his hand when he’s playing. If he wants to write things down I’ll give him a f***in’ pen and a pad of paper. Bunch of students.

Couldn't agree more. Bland pap for middle aged people who hold dinner parties.

No they are not, but the quote is funny and quite true, hence its appearance in the thread. You made the comparison on your own accord.

Typical amusing quote from Liam but thats rich coming from him when his band haven't made a decent album for nigh on ten years and Lyla is the usual crock of mundane bland boring ****e. Mugs like me have bought every album they've released in the vain hope they may improve, well Liam this is probably the last time a lot of people like me will be bothered to buy one of your albums, because if it's as ****e as the last 3 that will be your lot. They do say the 3rd album is always the hardest, I doubt Coldplay will have to try too hard to make an album better than Be here now, Christ I could have done better.

Middle aged dinner parties LOL PMSL, I always thought its car keys in the ashtray at these events?? where do u get the time to listen to Coldplay??

Will have to nab a listen of this.

As with everything, musical taste is subjective. I happen to quite like Coldplay's music. I think Chris is a pratt for using his media exposure to air his political views about free trade, but then again, who would not do the same if they were in a similar position?

As for Liam bashing them, hmm, jealous perhaps that Oasis' popularity is on the wane? Their first two albums were rather good, after that, well, I had them on the iPod (was *cough* given *cough* the mp3 files ) and they've since been removed, something which does not happen to 99 percent of the music on the slim white and silver device.

it might be worth noting that quote is not a recent comment, its from a few years back. Here it is with the original context:

At a recent charity concert for kids with cancer, Coldplay's Chris Martin took the opportunity to vent his anti-war views:

During Everything’s Not Lost he urged the crowd: “Don’t be afraid to sing along, sing to end this war.” He also changed the lyrics of A Rush Of Blood To The Head to “I’m going to buy a gun and start a meaningless war.”
Not entirely unexpected since he's been a vocal opponent of the war. But it didn't sit well with Liam Gallagher of Oasis, who got off a profanity laced drunken tirade:

“Chris Martin shouldn’t be using this cause to bang on about his own f***in’ views on the war.
“If him and his gawky bird want to go banging on about the war they can do it at their own gigs.

“That lot are just a bunch of ******* students — Chris Martin looks like a f***in’ geography teacher. What’s all that f***in’ s*** with writing messages about Free Trade on his hand when he’s playing. If he wants to write things down I’ll give him a f***in’ pen and a pad of paper. Bunch of students.

“These gigs are about kids who have got cancer, they’ve got to fight a war every day of their lives. That’s what we’re all here doing this for.”
LMAO @ "gawky bird"

PS I'm not an Oasis fan, but my Coldplay views are well explained above. Not that it matters, of course as Markus says music is subjective and personal. Whatever floats your boat....

Mr Martin, is a great sucess story, 15 years ago he was mubbling to himself & nodding along on those *special* buses, now he gets paid huge amounts of money to do the same on stage................a lesson to us all
