Best Bond Film?...
Can someone make this into a poll? Be interesting to see which is the overall favourite.
I watched 'The Living Daylights' last night for the first time in ages, and I reckon its my favourite of the series - great soundtrack, good story, and I reckon Dalton is a good bond - great spy thriller overall!.
My Top 3 Bonds:
- The Living Daylights
- Live and Let Die
- For Your Eyes Only

Is it just me, but if you were a criminal mastermind, would you find some imaginative, drawn out way to kill Mr Bond or would you just shoot him between the eyes and be done with it?

Licence to Kill
Dalton was an excellent good Bond - returning to the ruthless (ie the way he was written) nasty way he went about his job that got lost with Moore.
Its a great, very uncomplicated story of Bond shunning his employers & all thats gone before to gain simple revenge against a believable baddie (nasty drug barron) who has wronged his best mate.
There is no global domination / destroy the world mad-man (yawn) so its a very different story to the normal "save the world James" formula which is churned out all the time.
We see Bond in a nasty way, all bloody & beaten at the end (did Connery, Moore or Brosnan ever bleed ?)
Great film

When Bond and the bird are on the cable car and have a run-in with Jaws she says "do you know him?", Bond replies "Not socially" classic!

Drax has some good lines in the drawing room and Chateau scenes but that's about it. Once the Doberman's have polished off the bird it all gets silly.

They all have their classic moments.
For the whole package i like A View To A Kill. I'm not a Duran Duran fan but it's my favourite bond theme. Roger Moore is the first Bond i have memory of and i quite like Chris Walken too.

This "Bond film" was not part of the franchise produced by MGM and Danjaq. Kevin McClory, who was producer and co-writer of Thunderball (1965), won a legal battle against Ian Fleming to make his own Bond movie. The settlement stipulated that it had to effectively be a remake of Thunderball.

This utter tripe was discarded from my boxed set the moment it came through the door. Better acting from the lead in the Wooden Tops than from Mr. Dalton, and as for the wheelie pulling truck, purleeeeese. I know Bonds can be a bit far fetched (Moonraker, anyone ) but that just took the biscuit, dunked it, and waited for the soggy bit to fall into the cup.
Dalton did Bond way more harm than good.
To return to the original theme of the thread...
Best film? Difficult to say
Favourite? Probably Diamonds are Forever.
Best theme? Nobody does it better, by a mile
all IMHO, of course
